Staying hydrated - the effects of dehydration
A 2% loss of water from your body equates to a 20% drop in energy! So stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water!
Drink plenty of bottled water in less developed countries, even if you are not doing anything except reading on the beach. Apart from reducing headaches, you will feel energised and ready to go out for the evening and not feel like you have to sleep for a couple of hours to get your strength back.
Try not to drink just fizzy drinks, or alcohol, tea and coffee as they tend to make you more thirsty or dehydrated at a later date - although any liquid is better than nothing!
If you are sweating heavily, ensure you include salt in your diet too, or drink some electrolyte fluid replacement solution.
