Travelling by local transport is not only the cheapest way of getting around but it is also one of the most interesting. You may not wish to start as soon as you arrive in a new place, getting from the airport to town for example, as it can be an extremely slow and uncomfortable way of travelling - but that is exactly it's beauty! Take the local bus around town instead of taxis or the tube and you will be treated to some amazing places along the way.
