How long do they last for? Tours can be from 2 weeks to 9 months and life seems to revolve around the truck - it becomes your home and you look after it in such a way; sharing the cleaning & cooking duties and helping each other to put up the tents. The main question asked before going on an overland trip is "will I get on with the other people?". The answer usually on their return is "yes", as you will share your time with similar like-minded people. (I am still in regular contact with most of my trip 5 years on!)
